Creating a profile for PSRemote
Note: Keep in mind when creating a profile
for a remote user, that when in remote status the user will only have
access to the items that are specified in the profile. For example,
if you do not add Bob's PhoneList into the profile, that user will
not have access to Bob's PhoneList when they are in remote mode.
Step 2) Read the information screen and click 'Next' to proceed. Step 3) Highlight the PHONEslips user name you would like to create the profile for, then click 'Next'. Click here for an example. Step 4) Enter a description for the profile, for example 'Bob's laptop' or 'Bob's Home Computer', then click 'Next' to continue. Click here for an example. Step 5) An information screen explaining the two different synchronization methods appears next. Click the 'Next' button after reading this. Step 6) Select the type of synchronization this profile will be using, either Local Area Connection or Internet Connection. Local area connection is most often used for laptop computers that are temporarily connected to the office network to synchronize their data, then taken off-site. Internet Connection is most often used for computers that are not attached to the office network, and will use an FTP account to synchronize their data. Click here for an example.
Note: A single computer can use both methods
of synchronization, however a different profile must be setup for
each synchronization type.

Click here to return to the top of the page. Note: Most of the time it is more useful to edit a profile for a user as their business needs change, rather then deleting and re-creating the entire profile. In this way you avoid repeating the initial synchronization, which can be lengthy.
Step 2) On the Current Profiles screen select the name of the profile you would like to edit, and click the 'Edit' button. Step 3) The Edit Profile screen appears. At the top you have six tabs to choose from, PhoneLists, Schedules, To-Do Lists, Sendlogs, Call Logs and Messages. In each of these tabs you can add and remove items for the current profile. To add an item, highlight the item in the left column and push the 'Add' button. To remove an item from the profile, highlight the item in the right column and push the 'Remove' button.
